Seaqloud: good environmental control is essential for efficient and sustainable operations

A collaboration for smarter and more sustainable aquaculture

Good environmental control is essential for efficient and sustainable operations in the aquaculture industry. At Seaqloud, we work closely with leading aquaculture players to deliver smart solutions that provide better insight, increased control and higher uptime on critical sensors. One of our most long-standing and valuable partnerships is with Cermaq, where we have had the pleasure of delivering both advanced environmental sensors and support functions that contribute to more predictable operations at sea.

Seaqloud supplies Cermaq with environmental stations that measure oxygen and salinity. These parameters are crucial to ensure good conditions for the fish in the cages, and with the help of our solutions, Cermaq has access to reliable and up-to-date information - at all times.

The sensors are closely monitored through our rental and service agreements, which involve continuous monitoring, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting. This gives the customer peace of mind that the data is accurate and available, while reducing the need for in-house resources for operation and follow-up.

In addition to environmental sensors, Cermaq has also adopted Seaqloud's silage solution, which provides real-time display of both pH and level in silage tanks. This helps to ensure that the pH is kept stable within the desired limits, while also giving the company better control of the level and thus also better planning and logistics related to the delivery and handling of silage. This is a good example of how technology can help to solve practical challenges in everyday life in a simple and effective way.

  • "Cermaq has been an important customer and supporter for us for 6-7 years. They have helped shape us as a company, and we greatly appreciate the trust and cooperation we have had all the way," says Tor-Arne Gamst Pedersen, Sales and Marketing Manager for Region North at Seaqloud.

Cermaq also has engine integrations via our solutions, and is now also testing Seaqloud's weather station at the site in Langfjord. This will provide additional support for both planning and decision-making in operations.

Seaqloud has exciting plans for the future, including the development of location buoys with a wide range of sensors and equipment. Aiming to become a comprehensive provider of environmental and operational data to the aquaculture industry, we will continue to work closely with customers such as Cermaq to deliver solutions that combine technology, precision and sustainability.
